Maximus Claros is an up-and-coming drummer who has performed across a wide range of styles throughout New England. Maximus started performing in many venues including but not limited to Sons of Liberty, Picos Restaurant and Lounge, Park Theater, The Elliotte on Park, and the Roger Williams Botanical Garden for his monthly shows, starting at the age of 14 years old. He has played alongside amazing musicians including Ken Vario, Donnie Aikins, Matthew Kowalski, Leland Baker, Noah Campbell, Grace Darko, Noam Makover, Ben Shaw, and many others. Some of his bands include Teevio and the Aces, and the Max Claros trio, and he currently plays with a folk/pop group called the Just Love Band, additional to his freelancing carreer. Maximus' focus in music is to express emotions through his instrument and support the other players to amplify the energy and mood of the song.

“I originally got into music through my middle school band, and once I picked up my drumsticks, I could never put them down. I had done all-state in 8th grade, and through that program, I was recommended this incredible teacher and mentor, Tom Petteruti. He is the bandleader and drummer of Brass Attack, and he has inspired me to become the best musician I possibly can, and he still inspires me to this day. Through my passion for music, I was successful in getting a scholarship to the Jazz Arts Collective group in NYC where I met some incredible musicians like Kenny Washington, Charles McPherson, Ron Blake, Scotty Barnhart, and Sylvia Cuenca. You can find me playing once a month at the Roger Williams Botanical Garden in Providence with the Max Claros trio, and I play in different venues often, so if you would like to listen to me play, check out my instagram @maximusclaros or look up my name online.”

"I would rather fail at doing what I love than succeed at doing what I hate"
